What is TLWD?

Following a series of national trails the length of Scotland, England and Wales the full event will take you from John O'Groats to Land's End and passes through some of the most remote and beautiful countryside Britain has to offer.

Run as a series of daily connected stages, it is open to anyone who wants an exhilarating self-support adventure. Run it all or just a section, the choice is yours. Each day's run is posted on the Route page..

Each day will have a set start and end point, with an average distance of around 40 miles. Some stages may be shorter if they are particularly hilly, but each day will be challenging. The aim is to start at 8am and finish by 8pm, with stops through the day for food and to resupply with water, etc. If you don't feel confident running a full day, there will be several resupply stops en route where you can join or leave the run, these will be spaced at around 10-15 mile intervals, so there should be something for everyone no matter what their ability. See the Route page for details.

This is NOT a race, it's a group of trail runners getting together for a long, long run. There are no fees, no numbers and no assistance. Participation is entirely at your own risk. You should ensure you have adequate kit to cover all eventualities, enough money to buy supplies as we go, and can get yourself to/from the start and finish for whichever stage(s) you are running.

See the Kit page and Resources for suggestions of what's needed, and the T&C page for more detail.
